Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be present inside the same facility around UFC 257. So, is there any chance that the two will run into each other?
The countdown for the Conor McGregor Vs. Dustin Poirier fight has begun and the excitement to witness this bout is seemingly spread all over the world. While the fight will certainly generate several headlines, there is a chance that in the run-up the biggest of the kind will take place.
Though, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are the focal points of this entire third stint at fight Island but, there’s another huge MMA attraction by the name of Khabib Nurmagomedov, who will also be present there to run a few errands.
The Eagle will land in Fight Island to meet Dana White, and clarify whether he is up for another challenge or not. Moreover, Khabib’s cousin Umar Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight on January 20, therefore he will probably include himself in his brother’s corner. So, with appointments due, Khabib is expected to stay at the place for some time, thus, what if in that limited time he will bump into his old rival, Conor McGregor. Is there any chance of that happening? Dana White answers.
Dana White on whether Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov can run into each other at Fight Island
In an interview with TheMacLife, Dana White was asked whether there is a chance that the two hot-headed professionals can collide at this small facility, situated in Abu Dhabi. To which the UFC president vehemently said No.
“I think these guys will be professional. I think we have mapped out the roots of it. But we are a very small Island here, anything is possible but, no.”
So, with this statement it seems, Dana White and UFC does not fancy a mini UFC 229 reunion, however, the enthusiast might be hoping that the two catch sight of each other and let the moment take over.
