"If that’s how they feel, then they’ll just let me be free", Paige VanZant On Dana White's Comments

The past week wasn’t worth remembering one, certainly for Paige VanZant, who first lost her match and then found herself at the end of some stern words from Dana White. VanZant has now befittingly reacted.

Paige VanZant Vs. Amanda Ribas was the first match of the main card at UFC 251, the contest could not exhibit much and was shortly curtailed after Paige VanZant tapped-out to a submission move at 2 minutes and 21 seconds in the first round. This match-up did not give an iota of impression about the whole event. However, in the post event press address, Dana White, the president of UFC, did put forth his comments on the match, and exclaimed, Paige VanZant should test the free market.

A reaction from VanZant has come up now. Recently, in an interview with Damon Fighting Of MMA Fighting, 26-year-old Flyweight opened up about her future, and paid heed to White’s comments as well.

Here’s What Paige Vanzant Said On Dana White’s Comments

Paige VanZant first reflected upon her fight with Amanda Ribas, and said, “This is the exact fight the UFC wanted. They kind of do this to people when they’re on the last fight on their contract. They give them, like, the perfect style matchup. I went against somebody, she’s 10-1, I’ve almost had layoffs, calculating like three years I’ve only been able to fight once cause I keep getting injured. Obviously, it was the very toughest opponent they could give me for my one returning fight I had left. I didn’t play into what the UFC wanted. Of course, I still had confidence going into it. Amanda was so talented. I’m so excited to see where her career goes.”

Following this, when the interview picked the topic of Dana White’s comments, Paige did not showed any concern, and added, she did not know what precisely has been said, however she respects the suggestion of the UFC president.

She said “Honestly, I didn’t actually see specifically the quote or what he said. I try not to pay attention too much. It’s unfortunate because I feel like I have a really good relationship with Dana. I feel like I thought we were closer friends and he could text me or call me. If that’s how they feel, then they’ll just let me be free.”

Paige VanZant On Her Future

Following her loss, the message might be clear from Dana White, still nothing concrete can be put on paper as of yet. She stated, “Honestly for me and that’s something I want to go into negotiations, whoever it’s with, I want to know that they want me to be part of their family. I want to open a relationship where I can work — whether that’s working the desk or reporting or doing behind-the-scenes work. I have a passion for camera and TV work as well. So I would love if I could more than just fight for a promotion. I ultimately want to be part of the family.”

She could not make a perfect comeback to the ring, but the statements suggest, her career is not over yet.
