Kevin Holland wants to fill in for Khamzat Chimaev at the January 20 UFC event; wants to face Leon Edwards despite being assigned to fight Derek Brunson next.

Moments after the news broke-out that Khamzat Chimaev is no longer a part of the January 20 fight card, UFC Middleweight and one of the fighters of the year, Kevin Holland wasted no time in expressing interest in filling the vacant spot.

The Trailblazer took to Twitter to call-out Leon Edwards, who is now on the lookout for a new opponent. However, what’s ironic is on the same night Holland’s next booking was announced.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Holland is targeted to face Derek Brunson in March. Upon noticing the post on Twitter, Holland responded and messaged Okamoto to hold up since he is currently more inclined towards a fight with Edwards.

After garnering 5 wins in 2020, Kevin Holland is a household name now. Moreover, factors like being known as a Big Mouth- as he never stops uttering words even during his fights- has only improved his popularity.

On the back of an incredible display, Holland is adjudged as the fighter of the year by many media outfits. And now with 2021 approaching the fighter is seemingly even more focused and intends to go one up i.e., to 6-0 in the coming year.

There is a popular realization that if he gets close to his target then a title shot will definitely loom.
