Khabib Nurmagomedov pays tribute to father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who passed away in the first week of July.

On Wednesday, Khabib Nurmagomedov finally showed some activity on his social media handles. The reigning lightweight champion posted a photo of himself embracing his father, and in the caption referred the Chapter 17 Verse 23-24 from the holy book of Quran.

There have been question marks recently on his return, and many believe the fans may not see him again in the ring, at least not in 2020. While some even went as far as speculating his early retirement as well. UFC President Dana White in the recent past stated, “We’re just giving him time to mourn and do whatever he needs to do. We’re not bothering him at all right now. We’re just leaving him alone.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov was last seen competing in September 2019, and at this point his return to Octagon is obscured. There have been reports that he has pulled out from his potential fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 253. However. his Manager Ali Abdelaziz has recently Claimed that Khabib is in talks for a UFC Return.
