"Leon Edwards let’s give the fans what they want to see": Stephen Thompson calls out Leon Edwards after Khamzat Chimaev pulled out from the March 13 UFC Fight Night

Stephen Thompson calls out Leon Edwards following the scrapping of his fight with Khamzat Chimaev.

Leon Edwards is again opponent less as Khamzat Chimaev has withdrawn from the March 13 Fight Night event. While Dana White has confirmed that the UFC is figuring out the best possible replacement for Edwards, a fighter has come out and is voluntarily asking to fight him.

Stephen Thompson, who has in the past has shown interest in a fight against Rocky, did not waste time in calling him out after the news broke-out bout Khamzat’s unfortunate pull-out.

Wonderboy took to Twitter to address the situation, in the post, he wished a speedy recovery for Khamzat and then dropped a call out for Leon Edwards.

“Hoping for a full recovery for Khamzat Chimaev !! Leon Edwards let’s give the fans what they want to see! #3 vs #5”

Leon Edwards Vs. Stephen Thompson: Can The Fight Take Place?

Leon Edwards is the supposed next No.1 contender for the Welterweight title, and being the No.5 ranked prospect of the division Stephen Thompson is also in contention for the same. So, while it apparently makes sense for the two top contenders to contest for the undisputed spot, Edwards may waive off the challenge.

If the fight proceeds and gets on the fight sheet, Edwards being the better-ranked (3) fighter may potentially face the danger of losing out his position to Thompson. Therefore, considering a loss can downsize his frontrunner position, the fighter may give Wonderboy’s proposition a pass.
