Fighting in the biggest match of his career so far, O’Malley was seen limping early on in the match after his ankle bizarrely gave in. Vera took advantage of the situation he was presented with and quickly capitalised on it to win the fight.

While this is undoubtedly Vera’s biggest win in the UFC, he will be the first to concede that it came under strange circumstances.

The fight began with both approaching the match with different approaches. While Vera looked to close the distance and trap O’Malley against the cage, O’Malley looked to chip away at his opponent with stiff kicks to the leg.

O’Malley then suddenly began limping after presumably rolling his ankles. Vera wasted no time and brought him to the ground where he unloaded a huge punch followed by a devastating elbow. Referee Herb Dean stepped in and awarded the fight to Vera.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
