Stipe Miocic Thinks Jon Jones Would be a Great Addition to The Heavyweight Division
UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic evidently likes the idea of Jon Jones moving in the Heavyweight division, but says “wouldn’t be fighting (him) if he were the matchmaker”.
Jon Jones’ move to the Heavyweight division didn’t come as a big surprise, as for months it was a trending topic, that the 33-year-old’s ultimate destination is among the most weighed fighters. Jones made his official entry last week, after vacating the Light Heavyweight Championship, the title which was in his possession since 2018.
Jon Jones is one of the most successful MMA professionals, his resume which highlights a 26-1 record is enough to put him straight in the Heavyweight Title contention. And who can assess his trajectory better than the champion of the division himself.

Stipe Miocic Thinks Jon Jones Would be a Great Addition
Recently Stipe Miocic sat down for a virtual chat with ESPN, and discussed about his time at home relaxing with his family, his win over Daniel Cormier, Francic Ngannou being next in the pecking order, and Jon Jones’ arrival at the heavyweight circuit.
Stipe Miocic is the undisputed champion after his trilogy fight win over Daniel Cormier. The 38-year-old is on a break, and has no intention to again set foot in the Octagon soon. However, when the duty will call for him to defend his title again, Francic Ngannou will most probably headline alongside him. When asked about the same, Stipe said “Yeah I mean I think so. (He) again showed a definitely better last fight, he’s not gonna run out in the first round. He’s definitely worked his way back up, but you know if we do fight again or whoever they put up, you know John Jones whatever. But if do fighting on the next doesn’t matter, it’s the same as difference in having the same result. There’s no difference, I’m going to win and dominate.”
Francic Ngannou also recently expressed his opinion on Jon Jones, and said Heavyweight Division will be even more easier place for him. Stipe Miocic also had words about Ngannou’s view, and stated “Yeah I mean listen, it’s big boys and they got smaller bones now. So, it just takes one, I don’t care you hit hit hard or not, you can still get caught. Look at my first DC fight you know.” Miocic concluded by saying “I don’t think it is much easier i mean” However. when it comes to Jon Jones, he himself is of the idea that Jones would be a worthy competitor at the heavyweight.
