According to a recent report by Combate, the UFC will set up ‘Fight Island’ in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. The UFC have yet to confirm the location. However, Abu Dhabi does have lesser restrictions and relaxed policy on COVID-19 quarantine.

Dana White has said that he will reveal more information about it next week. He has however, revealed that Fight Island will likely hosts its first event on the July 11th. The UFC had earlier set the date to June 27th.

“People are very intrigued by ‘Fight Island,’ and I’m excited for it,” White said. “Right now, we’re looking at June, and we’re literally gonna knock out three or four [events] in a month. And I’m gonna stay on the island for a month. I’ll probably be there the whole month of July.”

“I’ll have pictures of the (Fight Island) infrastructure next week and have more details for everybody,” he continued.

“I’ve been saying June 27, but it’s looking more like July 11,” White added.

“That’s the first date that we’re actually bringing in all the different guys from other parts of the world.”

The UFC have held three events in the Abu Dhabi so far. The first was UFC 112 back in April 2010. The most recent event was UFC 242 that featured Khabib Nurmagomedov’s return and successful defence of his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
