WATCH : MS Dhoni looks in great form ahead of the 5th ODI against South Africa
A couple of failures in the ongoing ODI series has once again turned up the heat on MS Dhoni, as his critics have once again questioned his place in the side.
The current Indian side is overly reliant on Virat Kohli, as teams all over the world have figured out that dismissing the Indian skipper early is as good as half the battle won.
Rahane, Pandya and Dhoni have not contributed much in the ongoing series, as the brilliance of India’s top three have plastered over the gaping hole in the Indian middle order.
Dhoni is no longer the player that he was a few years back, but you can still count on him to provide runs in the middle and boost the score in the back end of the innings.
One of Dhoni’s greatest attributes was his ability to rotate the strike, something that he has struggled to do in his last few innings.
The keeper now takes a lot of time at the beginning of the innings, which is why it is essential for him to kick on after a while. But in an attempt to score quick runs, Dhoni loses his wicket and puts his team under pressure.
Ahead of the fifth ODI, Dhoni was seen hitting the ball in the nets, as the former Indian skipper was seen smashing sixes at will.
