Despite Extending His Losing Streak, John Cena Reportedly Received the Third Highest Salary at WrestleMania 39
Unlike last year, John Cena did make an appearance at this year’s Showcase of Immortals. As a matter of fact, fans saw The Cenation Leader in action at the mega event. However, the result of the match wasn’t what many might have expected. In an average encounter, he suffered a loss at the hands of the current US champion Austin Theory. However, you will be surprised to know the salary WWE gave John Cena for WrestleMania 39.
Ever since the 16-time WWE champion switched to Hollywood, his appearances in the ring have gotten fewer. However, it seems Cena’s part-time status hasn’t affected his pay grade in the company. Not at least according to the money he made at this year’s mega event.
John Cena reportedly earned $2 Million, the third-highest salary of WrestleMania 39
Sportspayouts, in one of its recent reports, shed light on the money WWE superstars made from this year’s Showcase of Immortals. As per the report, Logan Paul was on the top and reportedly earned $5 million for his match against Seth Rollins.
#2 on the list was Brock Lesnar who WWE paid $3 million. The Beast Incarnate’s involvement in the mega event wasn’t for more than 8 minutes. Talk about #3, it’s neither Cody Rhodes nor Roman Reigns. As a matter of fact, it was The Cenation Leader who hasn’t won a singles match at the mega event since 2015.
According to Sportspayouts, John Cena received the third-highest salary at WrestleMania 39. Despite losing his third consecutive match at the Show of Shows, the 16-time champion earned $2 million.
Win or lose is just a word when it comes to pro wrestling. All that matters is the impact one can make through his/her appearance. The Cenation Leader’s name is good enough to fill stadiums with the crowd. So John Cena getting a whopping $2 million salary for WrestleMania 39 shouldn’t surprise anyone.
When can fans expect to see the 16-time champion back in the WWE ring?
Well, considering his Hollywood schedule, it’s tough to point out a date for John Cena’s return. Not to forget, his recent match was just a few weeks ago. However, according to some reports, WWE is thinking of bringing him back soon.
Last week, there were rumors that The Cenation Leader is in plans for the Saudi Arabia event next month. Though it was also noted that everything depends on whether he is available to return. And if Cena does appear, one can assume he will be up for another big amount from WWE.
