NXT’s musical mascot Poppy is a famous American singer whose rise in the black and gold brand is attributed to her love for wrestling. Poppy told Spin.com that she idolized the Undertaker and Mankind as a child watching wrestling. She also revealed that she aspired to work for WWE for a long time and when the time came, she was quick to say yes.

It is not a rare sight to see celebrities make appearances in WWE from time to time. It is a strategic approach to garner new audiences who do not know much about pro wrestling. Through the years, WWE has brought in several celebrities to increase its fanbase.

Popular artists like Bad Bunny and Snoop Dogg have been involved in WWE on many occasions. Similarly, Poppy was introduced in WWE some years ago to promote her music on NXT.

Poppy namedrops her favorite wrestler on The Boulet Brother’s Dragula

During a guest appearance on The Boulet Brother’s Dragula, Poppy referred to Bianca Belair as her favorite wrestler. The reality show features drag performers competing to be the world’s best supermonster. In the show, Poppy spoke about Bianca’s physical aspect which she admires.

Poppy has contributed hugely to WWE in terms of music production. Her most recent appearance on NXT saw the release of her EP album, ‘EAT’ which is NXT’s official soundtrack. Besides that, a lot of her soundtracks have been featured in WWE including “Fill the Crown” and “Anything Like Me”. Also, WWE 2K20 promoted one of her most popular songs, ‘The Metal’.

Bianca Belair may reignite a feud with an old rival at the Royal Rumble 2023

The Raw Women’s Champion captained Team Bianca at Survivor Series WarGames. Team Bianca picked up the win after the returning Becky Lynch hit a few members from Team Bayley with a leg drop off the top of the cage.

Bianca crossed paths with her old NXT rival Rhea Ripley many times during the match. The duo last competed in a singles contest in 2020 in NXT when Ripley defended her NXT Women’s Championship.

WWE had initial plans to book Belair vs Ripley earlier this year at Money in the Bank, however, that plan never came to fruition as Ripley had to lay low due to her health conditions.

According to Xero News, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley would be slated to meet at the next year’s Royal Rumble. During the Survivor Series presser, Belair named Rhea Ripley as her dream opponent at WrestleMania 39.

“We’ve had a long history starting back in NXT all the way to the Royal Rumble, we both won our first titles at WrestleMania 37, we’re both doing equally amazing things, our careers are parallel right now. So, it’d be really great to meet each other at the mountaintop,” said Belair.
