Bret Hart responds to Ric Flair calling him ‘bitter’ and ‘lonely’

Bret Hart responds to Ric Flair calling him ‘bitter’ and ‘lonely’. The Nature Boy was not pleased with the Hitman’s comments on Triple H.

Ric Flair and Triple H are very close in real life. Naturally, he’s not going to want to hear ill remarks about his friend. While speaking with Conrad Thompson, the 16-time World Champion criticized Bret Hart for constantly condemning Triple H.

He said:

“What I do wanna do is be able to walk into the building and not have people say, ‘God, he’s bitter, he’s old, and he’s gonna continue to knock people. I couldn’t live like that. And calling Roman Reigns the next Triple H or cracking on him…

“I mean, how uncomfortable is that for people in the family to walk around in front of Hunter [Triple H]? And Shawn [Michaels], who is an integral part of the company. NXT, that’s part of the company, right? What else? Jerry Lawler… ‘Jerry Lawler hit me with a chair too hard.’ Wow, okay… I don’t understand it. I don’t ever wanna be that lonely.”

The Hitman took to social media to clarify the issue. He admitted making the comments in the past. But also added that his ‘supposed’ recent comments were just a rehash of the old ones and anyone advertising them as anything else was lying.

Hart also revealed that he had reached out to Flair and the two had cleared the air with each other. He closed by saying that the Nature Boy was among the few friends he had and he wanted it to remain that way.

“I know my comments at times can be unpopular or, at the very least, spark debate in the wrestling world, but it’s become apparent to me that someone is saying I did an interview with them recently but using old quotes of mine from way back.”

“I very, very rarely do wrestling podcasts, and I’m aware of what interviews I have done since the pandemic started. Anyone that is advertising that I did their podcast recently is flat out lying. For the record, I reached out to Ric and we’ve cleared the air with each other.”

“I consider Ric a friend of mine and, considering I have very few friends left in the business, I want to keep it that way.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
