Is Roman Reigns using WWE as a springboard to a career in Hollywood

Is Roman Reigns using WWE as a springboard to a career in Hollywood? The Universal Champion is undoubtedly the most popular active star in the WWE.

The Tribal Chief is putting in his best character work in the WWE since his days in the Shield. His decisive win at Wrestlemania was an emphatic statement regarding his position within the company. There is no one at par with him in the WWE. He is unquestionably the head of the table.

This could very well be the beginning of the Roman Era. According to Davle Meltzer, however, Reigns may not be with the WWE for too long. Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer claimed that the Universal Champion could follow in the footsteps of his Wrestler turned actor cousin, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Is Roman Reigns using WWE as a springboard to a career in Hollywood?

“Roman Reigns’ end game is to be like Dwayne Johnson — to use WWE to springboard to Hollywood when you’re done with this, absolutely. His end game is to be, maybe not Dwayne, but absolutely John Cena.”

Reigns has previously expressed his interest in working in Hollywood. During an interview on the Complex Load Management podcast last year, the Tribal Chief said that he would be into acting if the right opportunities turned up.

“I think Hollywood if the right opportunities come my way and it all works out, I would definitely be into it. There is nothing like creating and seeing the magic happen. I think it would be a natural fit to work my way in a smaller role situation and learn as much as I can and gather as much info and possible and one day I could hold it down and be that lead guy.”

Reigns has already worked in two Hollywood movies so far. His debut was with The Rock himself in the Fast and Furious spin-off, Hobbs and Shaw. His other film was a Netflix original, Wrong Missy, starring David Spade, where he played a minor role.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
