MVP claimed to be the real United States Champion before the match however, his claims to the title ended after the match when Crews hit the sit-out powerbomb on him for the win. The challenger however, did not accept his defeat and blamed it on the ‘unsafe working conditions’.

The lights in the performance centre dropped before the match and continued to do so periodically through the match. The announce team blamed the issues on the weather but MVP cared very little for their excuses or for Crews’ wife and kids for that matter.

MVP went on a rant after the match about how he was distracted and asked Crews if this is how he wanted to win the match. He then demanded a rematch for the United States Championship before adding ‘at SummerSlam’, after Shelton Benjamin whispered in his ear.

Backstage Crews told the interviewer that he had to stay at home and watch MVP pretend to be champion while his kids asked him if he was still the champion. He then revealed that he was going to give the old version of the title to his children and thanked MVP for getting the new title for him.

Apollo Crews has since accepted the challenge making it official for SummerSlam.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
