That’s what happened with Nikki Bella when she used to date WWE icon, John Cena. The former 2-time Divas champion was taunted for having things easy way due to her relationship. In one of her past interviews, “The Fearless” shared how her love life affected her WWE career.
John Cena and Nikki Bella were one of the hottest couples in WWE during the 2010s. Both started dating each other in 2012, a time when The Cenation Leader was at the prime of his career. The power couple stayed together until parting ways in 2018.

During a SmackDown episode in 2016, Carmella threw some big accusations at The Fearless. She stated Nikki Bella gets away with almost everything thanks to John Cena.
Later, speaking to Digital Spy, the former 2-time Divas Champion addressed all the allegations she faces due to her relationship. Nikki expressed disappointment with how people take away everything a woman achieves because of a man.
According to her, being with Mr. Hustle Loyalty and Respect had an adverse effect on her career. Nikki Bella stated people chose not to give her certain things just because she was with John Cena.
“To me, it’s disheartening… I am with a very successful man, and the crazy thing is people think that it makes my career easier. No, it makes my career so much harder…” Nikki said
The former Diva also recalled the reports saying, she got Total Divas because of her affinity with John Cena. The Fearless discredited all such claims, stating WWE didn’t even know about them when she joined the show.
During the interview, Nikki commended Carmella for being honest and saying things to her face. As to the outside noise, she felt such a type of criticism shows she is doing something right.

Just like any other couple, John Cena and Nikki Bella also had their fair share of ups and downs. However, that wasn’t the reason why both ended up parting ways with each other. Cena didn’t want to have kids after, but the former Diva did.
Nikki suppressed her feelings for a long time, but eventually decided to end the relationship. After being together for over six years, they went their separate ways in 2018.
Right Now, Nikki Bella is living a happy life with Artem Chigvintsev, who she married last year. The duo is also parenting a 2-year-old kid, Matteo. As for John Cena, he also got married in 2020. The 16-time champion tied the knot with Canadian engineer Shay Shariatzadeh.
