Roman Reigns vs Edge WWE Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank confirmed

Roman Reigns vs Edge WWE Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank confirmed. They were originally scheduled to face each other in a singles match at Wrestlemania.

Edge made his first WWE appearance since Wrestlemania on SmackDown this week. His first and only order of business was getting one over Roman Reigns. The Rated R Superstar only had the Universal title in mind and made his intentions very clear.

The show ended with Edge calling Reigns out for a match. His demands have since been met. The 2021 Royal Rumble winner will finally have his singles match for the Universal Championship at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay per view.

Roman Reigns vs Edge WWE Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank confirmed

WWE revealed exclusive footage of Edge furiously demanding his one on one Universal title shot from authority figures Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. Pearce agreed. Thus the match was made official.


Edge won the Royal Rumble 2021 and chose to face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 37. However, in the months leading up to their match Daniel Bryan got involved and was later included in the match. Reigns went on to pin both of them at the same time to retian his Universal Championship.

This is the Money in the Bank Card so far:

  • Ricochet vs. John Morrison vs. Riddle vs. Big E vs. AJ Styles or Randy Orton or Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn vs. two more TBD – Money in the Bank ladder match for a world championship match contract
  • Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross vs. Carmella vs. three more TBD – Money in the Bank ladder match for a women’s championship match contract
  • Bobby Lashley (c) (with MVP) vs. Kofi Kingston (with Xavier Woods) – WWE Championship Match
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair – WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match
  • Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Edge – WWE Universal Championship Match

Money in the Bank will take place on July 18, 2021 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
