Roman Reigns WWE return The Big Dog pulverizes both Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman at SummerSlam

Roman Reigns WWE return: The Big Dog pulverizes both Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman at SummerSlam to make an emphatic statement.

The tagline for SummerSlam 2020 was ‘You’ll never see it coming’. This led to the idea of WWE swarming the pay-per-view with swerves and surprises. However, by the time Bray Wyatt pinned Braun Strowman to reclaim the WWE Universal Champion, there was hardly any moment that left you shocked.

Once Bayley won retained her title, Sasha’s loss became obvious. Considering the circumstances Sonya Deville is going through, it made sense for her to lose and take the time off. All of RAW’s male Champions defended their title.

Only McIntyre seemed likely to lose. Many assumed he would do so due to Ric Flair’s intervention or maybe the match would be called off because of Retribution causing a disruption. In the end, he retained his title with a clean win over the Viper.

Seth Rollins won against a debuting Dominik Mysterio in a hard fought match. Either results would have been fine, none however, would be surprising. The only match left on the card that could spring a surprise was the mega clash between Strowman and The Fiend.

With Alexa’s involvement in the lead up, she was expected to feature in the finish, If she had done so, it would have been expected, the fact that she didn’t made her arc seem disappointing and meaningless. However, right at the very end, the WWE finally came good on their tag line in what was one of the most satisfying end to a show in recent memory.

Roman Reigns WWE return

Bray Wyatt and Strowman wrestled a decent match where a majority of the action took place outside of the ring to make up whatever they lacked inside of it. The match ended inside the squared circle however, after Wyatt slammed Strowman on the exposed wood with a Uranage. He then hit two more Sister Abigail’s to win the Universal Championship.

Just when you thought the show was over, Roman Reigns made a shocking return and speared the new Champ before doing the same to Strowman outside the ring.

He then laid out his former rival with a series of brutal chair shots before hitting another spear on Wyatt.

He picked the Universal title to signal his intent before calling Wyatt a freak with a mask.

An unexpected ending that gives the show that little buzz to send the viewers into a tizzy and expectantly wait for the next show to see where the story goes.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
