Steve Austin Cody Rhodes Roman Reigns

This year’s WrestleMania saw Cody Rhodes trying to do what nobody from his family tree has ever done. By conquering Roman Reigns, he wanted to be the first Rhodes to win a WWE World Title. Sadly, the dream didn’t come true because the management chose The Tribal Chief as the winner. Fans were unhappy and openly opposed the booking decision through social media. However, if you ask Stone Cold Steve Austin, Cody Rhodes versus Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 wouldn’t have ended any better.

Speaking to SI wrestling recently, “The Texas Rattlesnake” promoted his upcoming A&E show, “Stone Cold Takes on America”. During the interview, Steve Austin spoke on various topics including Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns at this year’s Show of Shows. He shared how he sees WWE’s decision to put The Tribal Chief over The American Nightmare.

Steve Austin apparently loved the finish of Cody Rhodes versus Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39

Steve Austin thinks the build for the main event of this year’s mega event was perfect. As a matter of fact, he liked the classic and wouldn’t change a thing. After the match, The Texas Rattlesnake even texted a couple of people involved with a one-word text, “Magnificent”.

As to the finish of Cody Rhodes versus Roman Reigns, Steve Austin loved all of it. He praised WWE for the way the whole match was built for WrestleMania 39. However, he doesn’t agree with those who wanted The American Nightmare to win.

The Hall of Famer noted that The Tribal Chief is so good right now that you can’t take the titles off him. Steve Austin feels WWE would want Cody to defeat Roman somehow, at some point, but WrestleMania 39 wasn’t the time.

The Texas Rattlesnake also revealed the reason why fans didn’t see him at this year’s Showcase of Immortals

At WrestleMania 38, Steve Austin surprised everyone by wrestling a match against Kevin Owens on Night 1. Fans were expecting something similar this year as well, which didn’t happen.

Speaking on the show, The Texas Rattlesnake admitted that there were talks of him wrestling at WrestleMania 39. However, he couldn’t appear due to his show, “Stone Cold Takes on America”. On the road to WrestleMania 39, Austin was filming for the show.

Because he was driving an RV all over the US, he couldn’t get himself into shape to wrestle at the show of shows. Plus, the show took a month more than expected, which is why he couldn’t make any commitment.
