Velveteen Dream Couldn’t Make a Dream Comeback; Will Face Finn Balor Next Week For a Place In NXT Takeover XXX
Velveteen Dream couldn’t make a dream comeback, however he is set to face Finn Balor next week for a spot in the Ladder Match, which will take place at NXT Takeover XXX.
After almost 6 months Velveteen Dream made his in-ring return at NXT, and was straightaway featured in the title contention. In the main event of this week’s NXT episode (August 12), a triple threat match was fixed, where it was decided that the winner would earn a spot at the ladder match, which will take place for the North American Championship, at NXT Takeover XXX. Though Kushida and Cameron Grimes were already in the picture, the third competitor was unknown, and thereafter Valveteen Dream made a surprise entry.

All the three wrestlers engaged in a much intriguing fight, and all had momentum at certain respective points. Swinging DDT, Somersault outside the ring, Submission attempts, the match had so much to showcase. However, it was Cameron Grimes who eventually pinned Kushida, and made his way to the ladder match.
After the match, Velveteen Dream attacked Kushida and marked his return in not an ideal way. However, moments after that, Finn Balor came by to give Dream a stare. The episode culminated there, and later it was announced the two will square off next week to determine who will enter in the ladder match, at NXT Takeover XXX.
