Becky Lynch Charlotte Flair

One of WWE’s top talents Charlotte Flair and her counterpart Becky Lynch were once best of friends. However, their friendship began to show cracks for various reasons. During their time in NXT, both Lynch and Flair were members of the dominant stable “the Four Horsewomen” alongside Sasha Banks and Bayley. After dominating NXT, both women made it to the main roster in 2015; the rest is history. Without a doubt, both superstars are gifted athletes who have achieved quite a lot in their careers.

Becky Lynch is a six-time Women’s Champion while Charlotte Flair is a 12-time Women’s Champion. For months both athletes were missing in action with Becky nursing her shoulder injury and Charlotte suffering from a fracture of the radius.

Lynch made her triumphant return earlier at Survivor Series WarGames and joined team Belair, defeating team Bayley. On the other hand, Charlotte Flair returned on the last edition of SmackDown 2022 and defeated Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Becky Lynch’s ex-boyfriend explains how her on-screen rivalry with Charlotte Flair ruined their friendship

It’s no secret that Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are not friends anymore. The duo has delivered some of the best matches together in the past. However, their on-screen heat became so real that it even harmed their real-life relationship.

Speaking on Wrestling With Freddie Podcast, Becky Lynch’s ex-boyfriend Jeff Dye recalled the origin of their rivalry. It’s worth noting that Dye was in a relationship with Lynch in 2018 when she was involved in a kayfabe feud with Charlotte Flair.

“Charlotte had a difficult time that Becky was starting to become the face of the female wrestling thing. I guess it wasn’t surprising. It didn’t change my perspective, but it was interesting to see how much they genuinely, when you’re struggling on the roster, it affects their personal life.”Said Dye.

According to Dye, their personal heat was a result of Charlotte’s jealousy of Becky. He also pointed out that both women were fighting over the top spot of the women’s division.

In his opinion, their unhealthy competitive attitude broke their friendship. Aside from that, let’s not forget, Ric Flair filed a legal case against WWE in 2019 for giving away “The Man” gimmick to Becky Lynch. While this may not be a primary reason for Lynch’s falling out with Flair, it may have hit a nerve.

Becky Lynch is hoping to win the Women’s Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania once again

In 2019, The Man won the Royal Rumble and injected herself into a triple-threat match with Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in a winner take all match. Lynch shocked the world after she picked up the win and became the WWE Undisputed Women’s Champion.

Her history-making win at WrestleMania made her the first-ever woman to unify both top titles. This year, Becky Lynch’s plans are no different. During an interview with WWE UK, the former Women’s Champion talked about her goals for 2023. Lynch stated that she is ready to win the Rumble again and headline WrestleMania for the second time.

“I mean, you always hope to win,” Lynch admitted. “If you’re entering the Royal Rumble, then you always hope to win. So that’s the plan. Win the Royal Rumble and go on to Main Event at WrestleMania twice. That’s the goal.” Said Lynch.

It’s a well-known fact that WWE likes to use real-life heat as their storylines, it will be interesting to see if Lynch and Flair cross paths again in the squared circle.
