Pro wrestling is an injury-prone sport, and every wrestler who steps foot into the ring knows the risk. Injuries can happen at any time in the squared circle, and sometimes, they can end a superstar’s career. However, other than a few, most of the wrestlers are safe workers who regularly deliver excellent matches. Similarly, 16-time world champion John Cena is also considered a safe performer, but in a sport like pro wrestling, even he can make mistakes. Recently, former WWE superstar Rene Dupree shared a story where he claimed John Cena once broke a fellow superstar’s neck.

During a recent edition of his Café de Rene show, the former star talked about another ex-WWE superstar Aaron Aguilera. Speaking on the show, Dupree also brought an unknown moment regarding The Cenation Leader to light.

John Cena delivered a kick to Aaron Aguilera that broke the latter’s neck

Famously known as Jesús, Aguilera challenged Cena for the US Title at WWE’s Armageddon pay-per-view in 2004. Rather than being a normal wrestling match, both men were featured in a Street Fight. According to Rene Dupree, the incident took place during that match.

On the show, the former tag team champion was asked about his views on the WWE career of Aaron Aguilera. Rene first gave an intro about Aguilera by revealing that he was Carlito’s bodyguard. After that, he claimed John Cena once broke his neck.

Rene Dupree stated during the match, Cena landed a lethal kick on Aguilera which injured his neck badly. The former star felt bad for his fellow wrestler as that injury kept Aaron Aguilera away for six months.

Dupree also revealed the reason why WWE fired Aguilera in 2005. According to him, the only mistake Aaron Agulera made was dressing up in his full gear. It was his appearance that enraged Mr. McMahon which then led to his WWE exit.

The Cenation Leader is confirmed to make a WWE return later this month

John Cena, who ruled the WWE ring for more than a decade, is nowadays busy with his Hollywood projects. In fact, for the first time in his 20-year-long WWE career, he has not wrestled a match this year.

However, that could change as he has been scheduled to appear later this month. Yesterday, WWE took to its Twitter handle and announced that Cena will be returning on December 30, episode of SmackDown Live.

Nevertheless, as of now, nothing is confirmed whether the 16-time world champion will be wrestling a match. And considering his acting commitments, the chances are very less. However, Cena could be addressing his further plans as there are rumors of him wrestling at WrestleMania 39.
