John Cena The Rock WrestleMania

The countdown to WWE’s next Showcase of Immortals has begun, and so have the fan theories and reports. In fact, for months, there have been rumors that The Rock could face his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. In fact, John Cena is also speculated to wrestle at the mega event next year. Add superstars like Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, and Cody Rhodes to the mix, and the upcoming Show of Shows becomes a must-watch event. However, a recent report claims that as of now, neither John Cena nor The Rock is confirmed for WrestleMania 39.

Next year’s WrestleMania, scheduled to take place in Hollywood, has made many WWE fans believe that both WWE icons will be appearing at the show. However, Dave Meltzer’s report on the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio might disappoint a lot of them. In his report, Meltzer has discussed the current chances of both men appearing at the upcoming Showcase of Immortals.

John Cena ‘probable’, and The Rock is a ‘possible’ for WrestleMania 39

Recently, Dave Meltzer discussed the current situation within WWE regarding the Wrestlemania 39 appearance of John Cena and The Rock. Firstly, he clarified that he is not denying the possibility of The Great One making a comeback.

However, talking about Cena, Meltzer noted he will be shooting for a movie in February and March. Well, that means The Cenation Leader will not be doing a lot of TV during that time. Though if he is available, then a WrestleMania 39 appearance is on the cards.

In short, according to Dave Meltzer, John Cena and The Rock making a WrestleMania appearance depends on whether they are available. As of now, Cena will probably and The Great One might possibly do that.

“I guess the best way to put it is [John] Cena is a ‘probable’, and Dwayne [The Rock] [Johnson] is a ‘possible’ maybe a probable, I don’t know. But neither is a sure thing,” Meltzer stated.

Well, it’s strange that with WrestleMania less than 4 months away, WWE has no active plans for John Cena and The Rock. However, considering how Triple H wants to keep things secret until the last moment, this could change at any time. Though as of now, there is no confirmation that both icons will be appearing at WrestleMania 39.

The Cenation Leader will be returning next week to save his 20-year-long record

John Cena made his WWE debut in 2002 and since then, every year he has wrestled at least one match. Though after switching to Hollywood, his in-ring appearances have become fewer. In fact, until last week’s SmackDown, it was believed that he would break his own record by not wrestling a single match this year.

However, that won’t happen as John Cena is scheduled to feature in a tag team match later this week. On the 30 December’s SmackDown, Cena alongside Kevin Owens will be up against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.
