Sasha Banks salary

Earlier this year, it was reported that Sasha Banks was in talks with WWE to negotiate her deal with the company. Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out during WWE taping in May, unhappy with how WWE was booking them. Following their walkout, WWE suspended the duo indefinitely. Both athletes have not been seen in the ring ever since, however, they were spotted outside the ring a few times attending fashion events. Sasha Banks is arguably one of the best female talents on the roster.

The Legit Boss had to scratch and claw to make a name for herself after her addition to the main roster in 2015. A new report revealed that Sasha Banks is officially done with WWE. Her exit was negotiated months ago.

As noted, WWE was reportedly hesitant to renew Sasha Banks’ contract as she had a very high asking price for a female wrestler. It is reported that Sasha’s new demands were along the levels of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair’s WWE contracts.

Sasha Banks refused to renew her contract with WWE as she was getting paid lesser than Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair

The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that although Sasha Banks’ return was in discussion after Triple H became the new head honcho of the Creative, Banks and WWE did not see eye to eye considering the financial aspect of her return.

As reported previously, WWE agreed to release Banks as a free agent after they couldn’t meet her financial expectations. However, the six-time Women’s Champion was forbidden from wrestling elsewhere until the beginning of 2023.

As noted before, the new report further stated that Sasha Banks’ asking price was similar to Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, however, according to sources, Banks was not seen internally as a top star in the company for the next five years but as someone who could have a singles or a tag team title run.

The thirty-year-old superstar has worked with both Lynch and Flair and delivered stellar performances. Meltzer also pointed out that most women in the division make over $1 million a year but top stars like Lynch and Flair make much more than that.

What is next for Sasha Banks?

Now that the former Women’s Champion’s exit from WWE is official and it is clear that WWE has no interest in renewing her contract, it appears as if other promotions such as NJPW and AEW are more than willing to invest in the Legit Boss.

In January 2023, Sasha is set to make her appearance at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17. Sasha Banks is also reportedly going to be featured in STARDOM in April. In addition, there are also speculations about her debut in AEW as Saraya’s mystery tag team partner. This may be Sasha’s chance to prove the WWE management’s perception of her wrong.

Contrary to WWE’s belief that Sasha Banks could not make a top star in the company for five years, she is one of the biggest attractions in women’s wrestling today.
