100Thieves fined and coach FrosT suspended after Valorant match against Immortals. 100T dispute the allegations and a back and forth with Riot ensues.
VCT Masters is North America’s major Valorant tournament. Sentinels signed TenZ as Sinatraa’s replacement and since then they have completely dominated the tournament. In the finals they beat FaZe clan 3-0 to lift the trophy. The real drama emerged after the tournament ended.
In the quarter finals 100Thieves were facing Immortals but the match was delayed. Official reason then as said to be “technical issues”. The match resumed only after an hour. Now we the know the reason and behind the scenes of what happened.
100Thieves fined $5000 after Valorant quarter finals incident –
Riot released a statement announcing that 100T would be fined and their coach would be suspended. They cite a dispute regarding a player’s ping and their coach behaved unprofessionally with officials.
In the statement Riot said,” 100 Thieves refused to play on the server selected by Masters Tournament Officials and failed to comply with official directives to start the game at the designated time. This resulted in an hour-long delay of Game.” Riot also cited a few rules like players were not ready, Non compliance and team not upholding high standards.

FrosT placed under probation –
Riot placed FrosT under probation and since then 100T came up with their own statement. Their statement said, “FrosT threatened to leverage players’ social media platforms against the Tournament Organizer and Riot Games as a response.
A Riot Games employee entered the channel and reiterated the server decision, the rationale behind the decision, and the finality of the decision,” 100T strongly disagreed with this and said “We disagree with Riot’s competitive ruling against our VALORANT head coach FrosT and strongly disagree with Riot’s public release and mischaracterization of the incident after we complied with their investigation,” They also released a video in which FrosT can be heard saying,“You’ll be in a bigger s****storm than we are”. One cannot hear the other claims made by Riot. This resulted in FrosT being placed under probation till the end of the 2021 tournaments.
