Dhoni to produce the biopic of a legendary Indian sportsman !
The success of sports biopics has not been lost on Bollywood as the people have come in droves to watch the lives of their favorite sportsmen unfold on celluloid. Now the latest person to enter this is field is none other than MS Dhoni. Dhoni to produce the biopic of a legendary Indian sportsman, Major Dhyan Chand.
Dhoni had a biopic made on himself which was released last year with the lead role played by Sushant Singh Rajput. The movie was a big success and has left people with wanting more of such biopics.

Major Dhyan Chand is the greatest hockey player of our country and attained immortality when he won three successive Olympic gold medals for India in 1928, 1932 and 1936. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and is in contention for India’s highest civilian order, the Bharat Ratna.
Rumors are that Varun Dhawan will be given the task of bringing Major Dhyan Chand’s life on screen. Varun has established himself as a bankable leading movie star at the box office and he is fresh off another box office success in Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.
“Cricketer M.S. Dhoni has acquired the rights to the film and might produce it. It is still not clear whether Karan will be co-producing the film, but Rohit is very much directing the film with Varun,” claimed a report from the Deccan Chronicle.

This will be the latest movie in a long list of sports biopics that have been happening over the past few years. Milkha Singh’s biopic was the first major box office success after which others followed suit with Dhoni’s biopic being one of the biggest hits of last year.
Just last week it was announced that Saina Nehwal’s biopic would go on the floor sometime next year with Shraddha Kapoor playing the lead role.
