AEW News: Jim Ross gets flak for misgendering Sonny Kiss all through last week’s taping of All Elite Wrestling Dynamite.

Jim Ross was called out by fans on social media for referring to Wrestler Sonny Kiss  on AEW’s Dynamite.

It is disgusting that @AEWrestling, @TonyKhan, and @CodyRhodes would allow supposed face commentator @JRsBBQ to misgender @SonnyKissXO multiple times through the 05/27/20 broadcast of @AEWonTNT considering its employment of @NylaRoseBeast and its purported stance on inclusivity.

The Former WWE Commentator then took out time to let the fan know that he did in fact have Sonny’s blessings to call him by the said pronoun.

Sonny also also showed up in the comments section showing his support towards the noted veteran.

Sonny Kiss has previously said that while he identifies as a male, he is not opposed to feminine pronouns so long as he was not viewed as gender neutral.

Previous controversy

Controversial figure Jim Cornette however, landed in hot water last year after making homophobic comments about the gay All Elite Wrestling wrestler Sonny Kiss on the May 30 edition of his podcast.

“Then here comes Sonny Kiss who apparently got off his day job at the drag-show at the f**king Tropicana. They’re not explaining any of this… The transvestite or exotico as they would say at AAA,” said Cornette.

For the record, the exoticos of lucha libre are actually male wrestlers, usually gay, that wrestle in drag as a means of subverting long-held Latin ideals of machismo while elevating LGBTQ representation in the ring. Exotico is not one of the offensive terms Cornette used to describe the flamboyant athlete.
