NFL MVP Race: Patrick Mahomes has once again turned in a very productive season. Is he on his way to another MVP award?

If not Mahomes, then who else can capture the MVP award? Here’s a look at the top three candidates for NFL MVP right now:

NFL MVP Race Candidates:

#1. Patrick Mahomes

Try looking for another player with his stats, his record, and his game-changing ability. You can’t. Mahomes has once again putting on a show this season, and his play has the Chiefs sitting at 8-1, well on their way to repeat as Super Bowl Champs.

As for his stats? Well just look at this graphic:

Mahomes has continued to excel at airing the ball out, but he’s also severely cut back on turnovers. He has only one interception all year long, and he ranks top five in passing yards, touchdowns, QBR, and passer rating. This is his award to lose.

#2. Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers keeps the Packers winning. Yes, their win against Jacksonville was ugly, and the score was much closer than it should have been but the point remains that they won.

Right now, Rodgers has the highest QBR in the league at 84.7, and he also ranks second with 26 passing touchdowns. He’s also made very little mistakes, turning the ball over only thrice all year.

#3. Russell Wilson

Before the Cardinals-Seahawks game, I would have probably kept Kyler Murray here instead. However, winning big games is a big factor in deciding who wins MVP, and Wilson did just that.

The Seahawks retook the NFC West lead, and avoided dropping yet another game to their NFC West foes. Wilson has been making history all year, and it’s led to his best case for the MVP candidacy of his career. He’s also number one in both passing yards and touchdowns at the moment with 2,986 and 30 respectively.
