‘Nets will be worse with James Harden? You need to be arrested’: Stephen A Smith rips Max Kellerman apart for demeaning Rockets star
Stephen A. Smith is absolutely livid that Max Kellerman believes the Brooklyn Nets would be better off without James Harden.
The James Harden saga on whether or no he will stay with the Rockets this season continues on. The story gains more and more momentum as each day passes.
James Harden couldn’t even suit up for the Rockets season opener that was scheduled for last night, as it got postponed. Several stars such as John Wall and Demarcus Cousins were on COVID alert. Not to mention, Harden’s recent trip to a supposed strip club had his availability for the night up in the air.
With the 2018 MVP making it clear that he wants out of Houston, a multitude of teams have been generated by the trade rumor mill. The team which has gained the most amount of traction in acquiring Harden has been the Brooklyn Nets.
Stephen A. Smith could not believe Max Kellerman’s stance on the Harden to Brooklyn rumors.
With the Nets supposedly being ahead of the pack in terms of a Harden acquisition, ESPN’s First Take decided to cover the story.
Right off the bat, Max Kellerman claimed that he believes the Brooklyn Nets would actually get worse as a team, if they traded for the Beard. This is due to the fact that the Nets would have to give up a large chunk of their depth.
Caris LaVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, along with a boatload of picks would be the bare minimum to acquire Harden.
This take by Max caused Stephen A. Smith to spiral. He called for the ‘basketball authorities’ to take the former away. He agreed with Max on his point about the Nets having their depth depleted if the trade goes through.

However, he proceeded to list out James Harden’s otherworldly offensive accomplishments from the past 3 years. He claimed Harden would only make the Nets better.
As of yet, there have been no further developments from Brooklyn’s side in being interesting in trading for perennial MVP candidate.
