“Kyrie Irving has upset Nets management”: NBA reporter claims Brooklyn Nets have had minimal contact with their star during his leave for ‘personal reasons’
An NBA reporter says that the Brooklyn Nets front office is unhappy with Kyrie Irving for missing 5 games in a row for personal reasons.
Kyrie Irving’s agenda going into this 2020-21 NBA season was perhaps to keep a low profile throughout the entirety of the season. So he told the media that he wouldn’t be answering any questions until further notice.
Fast-forward to today and Kyrie Irving is being talked about more than any other superstar in the league. It seems as though Kyrie’s mysterious absence from play has him in the tabloids more often than when he’s actually suiting up for games.
It is still unclear why Kyrie hasn’t stopped showing up to play alongside his Nets teammates. Kevin Durant has come out in support of his friend saying him and the Nets organization support Kyrie 100%.
The Nets are unhappy with Kyrie Irving
Though KD and head coach Steve Nash did come out in support of Kyrie’s decision to halt play, the Nets organization might not be so kind.
The Association’s Anthony Puccio reported that the Nets organization is growing restless with Kyrie Irving’s antics. He said, “How much patience does owner Joe Tsai have with Irving? Communication has been minimal. The front office has made it clear they’re unhappy with the superstar’s actions.”
The reasons as to why Irving has stopped playing are still up in the air. A recent video surfaced, showing Irving at supposedly his sister’s birthday party. The Nets have decided to investigate this video and possibly fine the superstar.
What repercussions could Kyrie Irving’s actions have?
Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are the de facto leaders of this Nets team when on the court. Leaving your team for what it seems like to party, doesn’t set a very good example for his teammates.
Kyrie Irving’s chemistry with the team may also take a hit as he has missed almost as many games as he has played this season. With Spencer Dinwiddie down, top tier guard play from Kyrie Irving is required.
If Kyrie was present during this stretch of games, perhaps the Nets would be above .500. whatever happens next, the locker room may not be the same once Kyrie Irving returns.
