Santiago Ponzinibbio Pays Tribute To Argentine Football Legend Diego Maradona At UFC Fight Island 7 Face-offs

Santiago Ponzinibbio paid respect to Diego Maradona at the face-off segment of UFC Fight Island 7.

UFC action is set to return this Saturday with UFC Figh Island 7 and since the event is only one sleep away, the pre-event formalities are at large.

At the weigh-in section, all the 22 fighters successfully hit the defined weight mark of their respective categories and then the face-offs took over and produced possibly the biggest headline. While the face-off segment is known to provide a glimpse of the action that may unfold the next day but in this case, something extraordinary took place.

One of the main card entries of the event Santiago Pozinibbio, who will be making his in-ring return after a long injury layoff, appeared on the dais on Friday carrying the poster of late football legend Diago Maradona. He alongside his opponent to be Li Jiangling displayed the poster after taking a hard look at each other.

With this gesture, Santiago Ponzinibbio paid tribute to the national hero of his native land of Argentina.

UFC Fight Island 7: Full Fight Card

UFC Fight Island 7 will kick off the third round of Fight Island, Abu Dhabi, and has some incredible fights lined up. The feature fights of the night are Max Holloway Vs. Calvin Kattar and Carlos Condit Vs. Matt Brown. The event will mark the comeback of Santiago Ponzinibbio, who is apparently eager to step inside the Octagon after spending three years recovering from major health concerns. Moreover, the card carries the performer of 2020’s knockout of the year, Jaoquin Buckley, who will be looking to continue from where he left off.
