“With Klay Thompson healthy we’re winning the NBA Finals next year”: Draymond Green throws down the gauntlet on the NBA, promises Warriors’ return to Finals in 2022
Warriors star forward Draymond Green puts the rest of the league on notice, makes a bold claim for the upcoming 2021-22 NBA season
The 2020-21 NBA season was the year the Golden State Warriors emerged as a Phoenix rises from his ashes. After making 5 straight NBA Finals appearances, the Warriors were struck by the worst injuries they could have imagined. Kevin Durant suffered an Achilles tear, which ruled him out for a whole season, and he made his way to Brooklyn not long after. Klay Thompson suffered a right knee ACL injury, which ruled him out for a season. Stephen Curry played just 4 games in the 2019-20 season before suffering a left wrist fracture. However, a mere four weeks before tipoff, Klay Thompson suffered an Achilles tear during practice.
Now that the 2020-21 season is a wrap for the Warriors, they have been planning for the future. Klay’s rehab has been going well. Draymond Green has been taking up multiple roles in the free time right now. He’s been serving as a player-analyst on Inside the NBA and has been excelling at it.
“We’re winning the 2022 ring”: Draymond Green
After years of having succeeded, the current state of the Warriors isn’t easy for their superstars. However, with Klay set to return in November, things are looking to change in the Warriors’ camp. Till the last season, the Warriors front office was looking to nurture their lottery pick. However, after Curry’s break-out season, they see a shot at winning it all again. They have put things in motion already, and are looking to fill the roster with the required kind of players.
Draymond Green knows what’s going on, and with a healthy Klay Thompson added, the Warriors would jump right back to one of the best teams in the league. He warned the rest of the league about the same.
Look out, NBA.

Whether the Warriors make it that far or not, it sure is a great sign as a Warriors fan to hear this.
