SmackDown star enraged with WWE after Roman Reigns vs Edge announced. He wasn’t pleased with the Rated R Superstar getting another shot at the Universal Championship.

WWE Hall of Famer Edge returned on SmackDown this week and attacked Roman Reigns. He stood tall by the end of the show and called Reigns out for a match. It was later revealed on Talking Smack, through an exclusive footage, that the two would go head to head for the Universal Championship at Money in the Bank.

This rubbed Seth Rollins the wrong way. Before the video rolled, the Friday Night Savior was certain that he would be picked as Reigns’ next opponent. He had already spoken about this with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. While the WWE officials told him that they would consider it, Rollins misinterpreted it as yes. Naturally, he was not pleased upon finding out that the title shot had gone to someone else instead.

Rollins was not happy with the announcement. He began lashing out at the WWE and reacted very angrily to the news.

“No, no, no, there’s no way, they promised it to me. Guys, they promised it to me, you don’t understand. This is everything that I’ve worked for. I’ve never been more ready in my entire life. Mentally, physically, spiritually, I am ready to be the next Universal Champion.

“I deserve the opportunity, not Edge. Not Edge. Not Edge! Where’s he been? He hasn’t even been here since WrestleMania, he hasn’t even done anything. He got his match at WrestleMania, I don’t care if it was a triple threat match. That’s not my fault. They put Daniel Bryan in that match. This just can’t be.

“You guys, look, there’s gotta be something we can do. I don’t care what Edge wants! I’m Seth freakin’ Rollins! This place revolves around me! I’ve been here everyday, I didn’t take six months off. I’ve been here everyday. Busting my a**. I deserve that shot. I deserve that title match.”


The WWE is reportedly planning a match between Rollins and Edge at SummerSlam. This seems to be the route they’re taking to build to that feud. It is likely that Rollins will have a role to play on July 18 when Edge and Reigns go head to head with each other. Or is there a swerve in the waiting? We’ll just have to wait and watch.
