“Mario Chalmers and LeBron James to reunite?”: Former Heat guard implores Lakers GM Rob Pelinka to give him a final tryout
Mario Chalmers wants to reunite with his former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James. The duo won 2 NBA championships during their stint with the Heat.
Chalmers, who has been playing for the Greek Basket League for almost 2-years, hopes to make a comeback in the NBA soon.
The 2x NBA champion has played 9 seasons in the NBA, out of which 6 have been for the Miami Heat. Chalmers was primarily the starting point guard for the Miami Heat during their Big 3 era.
Chalmers, who during his stint with the Heat played with the likes of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh, averaging 8.8 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 1.5 SPG in his 6 seasons with the Heat.
One of the highlights of his career was his performance during Game Four of the 2012 NBA Finals. Chalmers dropped 25-points on a 9-for-14 shooting that resulted in the Heat winning a crucial Game Four.
Mario Chalmers recently tweeted that he would wish to return to the NBA hardwood. Hinting at a possibility to reunite with LeBron James in LA.

Is Mario Chalmers playing with LeBron James on the LA Lakers feasible?
The Lakers are currently in need of a point guard who can ease the load off LeBron James as the primary play-maker.
One of the major reasons for the Lakers’ early ouster in the 2021 NBA Playoffs was their inefficient shooting from the field, especially their guards.
The likes of Dennis Schroder and KCP clearly underperformed in the playoffs, with Schroder scoring zero points in Game Five of the first round, becoming the first Laker to go scoreless in a playoff match.
Thus the signing of Chalmers seems a distant possibility. The 35-year old hasn’t played in the league since the 2017-18 NBA season.
The Lakers, on the other hand, do not want to waste any time, with only a few years left of King James’ prime. The window to win a championship isn’t that big anymore.
The LA team has expressed their interest in acquiring players that include the likes of Ben Simmons, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Lowry, Spencer Dinwiddie, Damian Lillard, and Collin Sexton.
There is no denying the talent that Chalmers possesses. However, the Heat star doesn’t seem to fit in the current Lakers roster.
