It has been a week since LeBron James’ dream project hit the silver screen. The movie, while has one of its kind graphics and animation, got mixed reviews from the audience. While the kids are loving it, the same cannot be said for the adults. The movie has gotten the numbers that were expected of it, and took down Marvel’s Black Widow as the top-grossing movie.
The movie’s hype got it the numbers on the box office that were expected from it. However, the reviews post the movie haven’t been very encouraging. The movie, while it has amazing graphics, is lacking a lot in its storyline. There are points where the movie seems to try too hard to take inspiration from the original movie. There are points where the movie seems too graphics-oriented and rushes through its scenes. The director of the 1996 Space Jam director Joe Pytka talks about LeBron James and the sequel in detail.

Even though the 1996 Space Jam did not have the incredible computer animation that the current one does, it was much more well-received. There could be several factors behind the same. However, its director Joe Pytka names the one which he feels was the biggest factor.
According to Pytka, “The truth is that LeBron [James] ain’t Michael [Jordan].” He further explained how Michael Jordan was not only the biggest athlete but the biggest celebrity worldwide when the movie was made. However, the same cannot be said about LeBron James.

He further added and shared how it took him 5 sittings to watch the 2-hour movie. He pointed out a lot of issues with the movie, but the one that broke his heart was Bugs Bunny’s depiction. It is safe to say that the OG cast and crew weren’t very pleased with the reboot.
