“In the hood we call this a punk move.”: Shaq and Charles Barkley weigh in on Ben Simmons’ apparent injury concern
Ben Simmons has been ruled out for game 4 against the Boston Celtics, Charles Barkley and Shaq are irate at the point guard’s injury status.
The crew on Inside the NBA does not mess around when it comes to hot takes. As former players, they can differentiate fact from fiction with relative ease. Especially when it comes to a player’s health.
Shaq is a four-time champion and Chuck has been an NBA MVP, they know what they are talking about. On yesterday’s show, they were quick to call out Ben Simmons.
Ben Simmons is set to miss the next game against the Boston Celtics. It is a crucial one, a game-4 in the first round where the Brooklyn Nets are facing elimination. And Ben will not be partaking.
Shaq and Chuck were quick to tell viewers that this announcement feels like a “punk move”. They discussed how a player can often make excuses and sit out.

Shaq and Charles Barkley are quick to discount Ben Simmons’ apparent injury concerns
The Nets’ announcement was likely triggered by Simmons himself, at least that is what Charles and Shaq think. They both accuse Simmons of being soft.

Both of them go on to say that Ben Simmons should be out here helping his team in every way he can and should not simply sit back.
After all the talk about adding a new dimension to the Nets’ offense and showing fans clips of his comeback, an announcement that talks about his withdrawal from the season is disheartening for the fans.
Shaq and Chuck both give their takes and are quick to call out the Brooklyn Nets’ no.7 on his supposed injury news. Shaq calls this a punk move and Chuck questions the authenticity of the claims.
He also goes on to talk about his credibility within the team and how he promised the Nets some minutes come playoff time. His absence has raised eyebrows and we hope that for the Nets’ sake that it is only for this season.
