Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson Accused of Leaking Misleading $72 Million Black Adam Profits

Dwyane Johnson, famously known as The Rock, is one of the biggest WWE names that has been ruling the Hollywood industry. In his more than a decade-long-acting career, The Great One has delivered multiple blockbuster movies. However, his newest movie Black Adam is recently making the news for the wrong reason. Matt Belloni, the current Founding Partner of Puck, has accused The Rock of leaking false stats about Black Adam to the press.

Making his debut as a superhero, The Great One had claimed to change the hierarchy of the whole DCEU universe. Moreover, the WWE Icon put all his efforts to promote his movie on a global scale. However, after the release, Black Adam underperformed and didn’t collect as much money.

Moreover, there are reports that Dwayne’s latest movie has cost its production a loss of millions. Now, there are accusations on the megastar about leaking false information.

The Rock leaked false profit stats of Black Adam to the Deadline

Puck’s Matt Belloni, in a newsletter, has revealed that Team Dwayne Johnson leaked the misleading story to Deadline. In fact, the accusations against The Rock have been backed by several Warners executives.

In the report submitted to Deadline, it was claimed The Rock will be profiting Warner Brothers about $52 to $72 million from Black Adam. Revenue factors like VOD and Blu-Ray were taken into account in that report.

However, Belloni called the report false and “filled with false assumptions”. He further went on add that the fake stats as “one of the sillier trade stories of all time”. Belloni doubts that Black Adam will reach the home entertainment numbers The Rock is expecting. He even believes that the $100 million global marketing figure provided was misleading.

Anyway, not just the accusations, The Rock must also be concerned about the future of Black Adam. Recent reports also claim that the production house has put several projects on hold which include the sequel of The Rock movie.

The 10-time champion is speculated to win the upcoming Royal Rumble

Well, keeping the Hollywood issues aside, there is some good news about The Rock fans in WWE. For more than a year, The Great One has been speculated to face Roman Reigns in the ring. And with Wrestlemania 39 coming close each day, the rumors are getting strong. In fact, recent reports are claiming WWE is considering Rock to win Royal Rumble 2023 and then face Reigns.

Nevertheless, just like the past year, all of these are just conjectures as nothing a confirmed as of now. And considering the above accusations, fans should not expect any kind of clarification. Though fans would want to hear from The Rock about the misleading profit stats of Black Adam.
