Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.

MrBeast replied to his tweet and said Musk should step down as the CEO if he is going to put restrictions on the cross-promotion of other social media platforms. He said: “If you’re going to keep doing stuff like this, yes.”
Since Musk stepped in as the CEO, a lot of policy changes have been introduced, one of which is the restrictions on the cross-promotion of social media platforms. This list includes the following names:
- Mastodon
- Truth Social
- Tribel

This poll and the kind of response Musk got from it was closely followed by another tweet. In the tweet, Musk suggested, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.” While we still don’t know what it completely means, it could be co-related to the testimony he gave at the US trial that challenged the compensation he received at Tesla.
In the trial, he said that he did not want to remain the CEO of Twitter forever.
Why is Elon Musk facing backlash after the Twitter poll?

On December 18, Twitter issued changes to the “promotional policies” thwhicheans that people who crcross-promoteheir social media handles that are mentioned in the list will get their account suspended.
A part of the policy change read:
“At both the tweet level and the account level, we will remove any free promotion of prohibited 3rd-party social media platforms, such as linking out (i.e. using URLs) to any of the below platforms on Twitter, or providing your handle without a URL.”
Not just MrBeast but Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey asked “Why”.
This change in promotional policy is next in line after Musk fired 7,500-strong staff and started charging $8 per month for the coveted Blue Tick.
