Is Devin Booker Playing Tonight vs Cavaliers? Suns Release Injury Update for 6ft 5’ Star Guard

The Phoenix Suns entered the 2022-23 season with vengeance. After making it to the NBA Finals back in 2021, Monty Williams’ boys suffered an embarrassing series loss in 2nd round of the playoffs against Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks.

To be fair, the Arizona-based franchise had a pretty incredible start to this campaign. One of the top teams in the Western Conference, Chris Paul and co. were 15-6 in the first 21 games of the season. Since then, the team not only suffered a 5-game losing skid but also lost Devin Booker due to an injury.

Booker suffered a groin injury in the 1st period of the Suns-Nuggets Christmas Day clash. After playing merely 4:20 minutes, the 6-foot-5 combo guard rushed back to the locker room, being ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Devin Booker to miss multiple weeks

Despite being in the midst of a 6-game road trip, Booker flew back to Phoenix for further evaluation. In the next few days, the franchise revealed in a tweet that D-Book had sustained a left groin strain and would be re-evaluated in four weeks.

It’s been merely one week since the incident, and clearly, Booker is not suiting up any time soon.

The Suns, who are in much need of a win, will have to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the former Kentucky Wildcat’s absence. Apart from missing out on Devin’s services, Cam Johnson will also be unavailable for PHX.

Currently, on a 3-game losing streak, the Suns have fallen down to the #8 spot in the West. Facing the Cavaliers, the Heat, the Warriors, and the Nuggets as their next 5 clashes, CP3 and Deandre Ayton will need to come big and make their presence felt.
