“If You Can Kick, We Got a Jersey For You”: Hilarious But “Fake” Jerry Jones Tweet About Kicker Brett Maher’s Incompetence is Breaking the Internet
Monday Night football witnessed what could have been one of the most iconic games in the NFL. After an embarrassing loss to Jerry Jones’ Cowboys, the NFL community may have just seen Tom Brady play his last game.
With his 20th appearance at the playoffs, the 45-year-old legendary quarterback could have played his final NFL game in the shadows of Dak Prescott’s supreme showcase.
While the Offense and Defense units got together and in unison brought glory to their team, a certain someone didn’t seem to be on par with the rest of the team’s form. As global trends work, the NFL community didn’t waste any time in highlighting this through memes on Twitter.
Brett Maher creates NFL history
America’s team’s kicker, Brett Maher, had a total meltdown as he fared poorly through the game. Maher failed to convert extra points on four different occasions in the game. With each miss, it was evident that his Cowboys’ teammates weren’t too amused with his showing. Maher not only set the playoff record for most extra points missed, he even set the NFL record for failing to convert four kicks.
With the four misses during the game, Maher took his missing streak to five. He missed his only attempt in their game week 18 clash with the Commanders as well. Fortunately for him and for the Cowboys, Maher ended this streak last night in the fourth quarter. He finally converted his kick to a point. This was much appreciated by the fans in the stadium as they cheered him on.
However, the 17-point difference between the Bucs and Cowboys ensured that Maher wouldn’t feel the pressure of his poor showing. For his record-breaking performance, Maher found himself as the primary source for social media too. Former NFL athlete, Robert Griffin III shared one of these memes on his page as well. Attaching numerous laughing emojis, RG3 seemed to have really enjoyed the content.

The piece was indeed funny as it was scripted and made to look like a tweet from Jerry Jones, who isn’t active on Twitter. However, if he had a Twitter, it could have definitely been a Tweet from him. With that showing from Maher, Jones would have definitely been livid.
Since nothing went south for the Cowboys, they will look to rally behind their kicker and help him prepare for the divisional playoff game, where he will need to be on top of his game. The Cowboys will play the 49ers in what will be a clash of powerhouses.
