Is Zion Williamson Playing Tonight Vs The Nuggets? Injury Report On Pelicans Star Ahead Of Match-up Against 2x MVP
The New Orleans Pelicans looked like quite the formidable team out in the Western Conference to start the season off. Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum made up a devastating 3-man group on the offensive end of the floor and looked to lead the Pels to a top 4 seed.
They are currently boasting a 26-21 record and have gone 3-7 in their last 10 games. While they are the 4th seed in their conference, they’re also slipping in the standings. This is due to the fact that both Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson have been out for them for quite some time now.
Williamson had been playing exceptionally well for the Pelicans as in his last 10 games before going down with injury, he averaged 30 points per game and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 62.7% from the field.
Will Zion Williamson play tonight against the Denver Nuggets?
Zion’s last game out on NBA hardwood was a January 2nd bout between the Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers where he’d play 28 minutes and drop 26 points on 83% shooting from the field.
The Duke product has been out since them as he tends to a right hamstring strain that he sustained in the Pels-Sixers game. Going into tonight’s Pels game against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, Zion’s status has not changed as he’s listed as being ‘OUT’ for tonight.
Trey Murphy of the New Orleans Pelicans stated that the Pels are always going into every game with a ‘next man up mentality’. Though, he did state that it would also be nice to have 2 of their All-Stars back because having that cushioning just means you’re allowed to play the game more freely.
