Kevin Durant is one of the biggest names in and around the NBA. The Suns’ star helped the team secure a Game 4 victory today, putting the team up 3-1 in the first-round series against the Clippers. While the news around the team is the excellent pairing he’s formed with Devin Booker, that isn’t the only news surrounding KD.

For a star as big as KD, rumors are nothing new. The latest one is once again about who he’s dating. He’s always been secretive about his dating life, and it’s for good measure. While he’s been linked to quite a few names, the latest one has us all quite shaken.

Claim: Kevin Durant is dating Brittney Griner

Kevin Durant joined the Phoenix Suns in February when he was sent here from Brooklyn on the trade deadline. While he did not play for the first three weeks, he made sure to start forming bonds with his teammates.

On the other hand, Brittney Griner returned home from the Russian prisons in December 2022. Being a part of the Pheonix Mercury, home for Griner is in Arizona as well. The rumors between the two stars started when a Twitter page posted a photo of the two of them.

They also attached a video of Griner kissing KD on the cheek.

Fact and Verdict: KD and Griner are not dating

These two posts which have the internet stirring about Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner dating have been taken out of context. The first image of Griner and Durant hugging is from back in March, when the two Pheonix stars met again for the first time since she got back home.

Durant and Griner have known each other for a long time. They’ve been a part of two Team USA Olympic delegations(2016 and 2020). The second video is from the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Griner had sneakily snuck in a kiss at the event.

Griner married her wife Cherelle Griner in 2019. On the other hand, KD has been quite secretive about his dating life. However, Griner’s strong marriage is the foundation on which we can boldly say that Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner are not dating.
