WATCH: Virat Kohli Blows Kiss to Lucknow Spectators; Refrains from Keeping Shut Gesture Unlike Gautam Gambhir
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was in no mood of missing an opportunity of giving it back to an opponent in style. Kohli, who literally loves such revenge sequences, engaged with the spectators at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium tonight.
It all happened on the third delivery of the fourth over when Lucknow Super Giants stand-in captain Krunal Pandya (14) hit a Glenn Maxwell delivery towards Kohli at long-off. Not the most straightforward of catches, Kohli had to run to his right before making the opportunity look pretty simple.
It is worth mentioning that spectators at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium were at the receiving end of a “keep shut” gesture from Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir after the visitors sealed the highest successful Indian Premier League 2023 run-chase against Royal Challengers last month.
Although it is not clear if Kohli’s gestures were motivated by any comment from a spectator or it was just a fitting response to Gambhir, Kohli’s signals towards fan were quite contrary than that of Gambhir. Kohli, who blew a kiss towards fan after having done the same to wife Anushka Sharma earlier this season, gestured how he would never ask fans to keep shut.

Kohli, who was fielding at cover, grabbed another praiseworthy catch to dismiss LSG Impact Player Ayush Badoni (4) in the following over. Having grabbed a couple of catches within the span of a few deliveries, there was no stopping an animated Kohli.
As a matter of fact, the 34-year old player hasn’t let his celebrations come to an end as his teammates have been picking wickets at regular intervals in their attempt to defend a 127-run target. Assuming that RCB manage to secure a victory in this match, it is going to be their joint-lowest successfully defended innings total.
