What Time Will Novak Djokovic vs Huber Hurkacz Match Start Today After Suspension?

Defending champion Novak Djokovic will be continuing his journey of defending his title at the Wimbledon Champions today. He was last seen competing against Hubert Hurkacz yesterday but due to the curfew, he had to stop short of wrapping up the match. 

The match was put on hold with the Serbian very much in command, winning the first two sets, 7-6(6), 7-6(6). The play was halted close to the two hour mark, meaning Djokovic had to work for the 2-0 sets lead. But as always, tie breakers bring out another level in Nole. Hurkacz will be hoping the momentum shifts in his favor a little after the break the two players have had.

Novak Djokovic Stepped on Court Later Than Expected

Speaking about the match, it began later than the scheduled time. It was the third match on Centre Court. The two matches played earlier went on for longer than expected. Consequently, Djokovic stepped on the court at around 8pm local time. 

As the match began, both players were serving efficiently, unable to break each other. In the end, the winner had to be decided in a tiebreaker. None of the players faced any break point in the opening set, with the Serb eventually winning the opening set 7-6(6). 

In the following set, the outcome was exactly similar to the previous set. The 23-time Major winner won the set 7-6(6). Post that, the match was halted as the curfew hour arrived.

The Scheduled Time for Novak Djokovic’s Match

The match will resume today. It is expected to begin after the first match scheduled on the Centre Court today which will take place between Beatriz Haddad Maia and Elena Rybakina. It won’t begin before 2:30pm local time, which is 5:30am CA time and 8:30am ET. 

Besides his match, there are two more matches to take place on Centre Court today. Post Djokovic’s match, there will be Ons Jabeur who will take on former champion Petra Kvitova. 

Following that, there will be another exciting match. The World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will be taking on 2021 finalist Matteo Berrettini for a spot in the quarterfinal. It has all the makings to be a cracker of a match. 

The second week begins today at SW19. With each round passing by, the quality of matches will only go higher. If the Serb wins today, he will be three matches away from creating history by equaling Roger Federer’s record of winning eight Wimbledon titles. He is the favorite to win it and only time will tell if he achieves that feat.
