“That’s Not the Writers’ Job To Be Homers”: Deion Sanders Gets Called Out By Rob Parker Over Unnecessary Press Conference Comment

Deion Sanders sparkles with confidence after proving his critics wrong in his electrifying debut game with Colorado. His radiant personality and incredible results made everyone believe in his program. However, there was one thing about him that popular sports anchor Rob Parker didn’t like, which was Coach Prime calling out individual writers for their previous takes.

In his recent episode of The Odd Couple, Rob Parker got fired up on Coach Prime for his unnecessary remarks about the writers in his press conference after the TCU game. Deion Sanders was certainly proud of his team since they had put up a phenomenal show but Parker did not agree to the way he questioned the reporters.

Rob Parker Calls Out Coach Prime

The Colorado Buffs were certainly electric and their magnificent victory created a ripple effect which led to AP placing the Buffs at 22 in the Top 25 list. Furthermore, it even led to a massive increase in Shedeur Sanders’ NIL valuation and Travis Hunter becoming one of the frontrunners in the Heisman race with Shedeur. But above all the team became the center of attention in college football. Rob Parker certainly appreciated Deion’s efforts and hard work in it but he found his press conference remarks tasteless.

“The press conference with Deion, calling out the writers warning them to cash their tickets or receipts and all this other stuff. That’s not the writers’ job to be homers and ‘Oh you didn’t believe, I read what you wrote.’ Would Deion have said that had he lost?” Parker said.

Speaking to his co-host Chris Broussard he further added, “Could you have trashed Deion if they had lost that game to say, ‘See, Dion can’t coach this is he’s in over his head.'” Parker seemed unhappy about how the press conference turned out to be. He even asserted that “it’s just one game” which is not enough to draw conclusions.

ESPN Writer Has A Classy Response To Deion Sanders

Coach Prime, just as he said, had kept his receipts when he went on to the press conference after the game. He, though called out all his critics but his special attention was on ESPN’s senior reporter, Ed Werder. The moment of exchange between Werder and Sanders went viral after the NFL legend asked, “Do you believe now? I read through that bull joke you wrote!”

However, instead of the exchange, Werder had a classy response to Sanders’ remarks. Werder later took to Twitter to write, “Saturday was surely among the greatest in the life of Deion Sanders, both as a coach and father. Congratulations, it was mesmerizing to watch.” It was surely a great way to turn down the heat. But now Coach Prime and his team have to keep the hype going the rest of the season, especially next week against Nebraska.
