Shedeur Sanders’ Top Tier Stats Show Why He Is Still Worth the Hype
Colorado Buffaloes with Shedeur Sanders at the helm seemed unstoppable earlier this season. Led by Deion Sanders, the Pac-12 underdogs had three consecutive wins from the season opener, outshining their previous year’s performance. However, then came the bout against the Oregon Ducks, one of CU’s biggest conference rivals. The team significantly struggled, leading to a lopsided defeat, followed by two more losses, including a recent one against the Stanford Cardinals. However, this didn’t merely stop the hype around CU’s star QB, and a recently revealed set of stats proves why.
Colorado Buffaloes’ beat writer, Brian Howell, recently took to Twitter, showcasing Shedeur’s outstanding achievements. This list not only proves why the hype won’t budge around the Heisman contender but also cements his position as one of the top QBs in the league.
Shedeur Sanders Is Still Worth the Hype
Shedeur has been dominating college football this season, even putting up an insane fight against reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams. The team held their ground until the final seconds and came up short by just 7 points while facing the USC Trojans. Even in defeat, Shedeur has accumulated insane stats, dominating the top of the spot in the national rankings, with a staggering 2420 passing yards.
Furthermore, the star QB also claims two more top spots with 303 passing attempts and 219 completions. Without any surprise, he also comes third in terms of passing touchdowns, adding 21 touchdowns to his tally this season. Brian Howell’s released list also highlights Shedeur’s 23rd rating and completion percentage.
Shedeur Sanders national rankings:
Passing yards: 2,420 (1st)
Passing TDs: 21 (3rd)
Attempts: 303 (1st)
Completions: 219 (1st)
Comp %: 72.3 (T-9th)
Rating: 160.26 (23rd)#cubuffs— Brian Howell (@BrianHowell33) October 18, 2023
Despite facing challenges with a moderate O-line and a struggling defense, the 21-year-old Jerry Rice Award winner has been dominating the gridiron and sits among the frontrunners. However, former football player Jason Whitlock appears to have a different perspective.
Jason Whitlock Berates Deion Sanders
The renowned analyst didn’t mince words, delivering a scathing critique of Coach Prime on his ‘Fearless’ podcast. He asserted that Sanders’ Colorado takeover revolves around his son, Shedeur, branding Prime as a “pee-wee football coach” and suggesting that Sanders is prioritizing his son’s stats.
Whitlock also raised concerns, claiming that Coach Prime is exploiting his roster, and brought up Travis Hunter playing more snaps than necessary after coming back from an injury. He strengthened his stance by claiming that Deion needs players like Hunter to pad his son’s stats. He concluded by addressing the passionate fans, stating, “Deion is your God. And, you’re mad at me because he’s not my god,” followed by, “You’re upset with me because I’m telling you, you’re worshipping a false god.”

With the upcoming showdown between CU and the UCLA Bruins, who have had a dominant season, even staying one place ahead in Pac-12, the speculation around the Sanders duo continues. It will surely be interesting to see if Coach Prime can once again lead the team to victory.
