Saints Have a $93 Million Problem for 2024, While LA Rams Are Seemingly Outside Troubled Waters
As the projected salary cap figures for the 2024 season emerge, several teams are going to face tough times because they are expected to spend more money than the allowed limit for the 2024 season. Surprisingly, the Los Angeles Rams, despite predictions, are not among the top ten.
In the latest ranking of the NFL teams with the least projected salary cap room for 2024, the New Orleans Saints are at the top of the list and are projected to have the most severe deficit at -$93.6 million. Following closely are the Los Angeles Chargers are -$52.5 million, the Miami Dolphins at -$51.9 million, and the Buffalo Bills at -$48.6, per OverTheCap.
NFL teams with least projected salary cap room for 2024 (51 man roster, $242M cap)
1. Saints -$93.6M
2. Chargers -$52.5M
3. Dolphins -$51.9M
4. Bills -$48.6M
5. Broncos -$23.7M
6. Cowboys -$18.6M
7. Browns -$17.5M
8. Steelers -$13.6M
9. Seahawks -$5.7M
10. 49ers -$4.2M— Jason_OTC (@Jason_OTC) December 22, 2023
Others teams facing cash troubles include the Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers. New Orleans Saints currently stand at 7-8 and are placed 2nd in the NFC South. However, with no cap space, it will make it difficult for the franchise for the next few years to perform at the highest level.
Anyone else remember when the Rams were supposed to be in “cap hell” for years?

In 2023, the Los Angeles Rams had a amount of dead money totaling $75 million. However, for the 2024 season, the Rams reduced it to just $700,000. The Rams will get a top pick in the draft for the first time since choosing Jared Goff in 2016. They are set to have 11 draft selections in the upcoming drafts.
