The law of average is catching up with the Super Kings as they succumbed to their second loss on the bounce despite some valiant efforts from MS Dhoni in the last over. CSK now need to start winning again to stay at the top of the table considering MI and DC are breathing down their neck.
The good thing for CSK is that they return to Chennai where their spinners love to bowl. Also, the roar of the passionate fans is enough to motivate any team to sometimes achieve the unthinkable. Getting to 16 points will be of utmost priority to Dhoni right now.

Top-order
Shane Watson has looked very ordinary so far. However, he may be persisted with at the top unless CSK decide to bring in Santner on the spin friendly surface. In that case, Watson will have to make way for the New Zealander.
Dhruv Shorey, an exciting Indian batsman, would then replace Watson at the top of the order with Faf du Plessis who has been magnificent with the bat in almost all the matches that he has played. Faf would want to score a big match-winning knock for CSK here.
Suresh Raina, by his own IPL standards, has been a disappointment in this season. However, Raina has played some good knocks here and there. He needs to try and be more consistent as he is one of the most important batsmen in the CSK batting order.
Middle-order
Kedar Jadhav has had a mixed season so far. He has not been prolific but Dhoni would know what he can do on his day. Jadhav would want his day to come soon now.
Ambati Rayudu played a good knock with Dhoni last night to take the match deep and give his captain the outside chance to win that one through some last over heroics. Although they fell short by just a run, Rayudu showed a good temperament and would like to continue being useful to the team.
MS Dhoni has been having a wonderful season. His scintillating 84* off 48 balls almost took CSK home the other night. He batted brilliantly on a pitch which no one else could bat properly.
CSK fell short by one run but Dhoni proved to one and all that the match is never over when he is at the crease, not even when you need 26 runs in 6 balls. Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo would play the role of finishers and get some maximums at the fag end
of the innings.
Bowlers
The CSK bowling line-up is extremely brutal especially in conditions like the Chepauk. We can expect the spinners to come to the party once again. While Tahir and Jadeja have been brilliant and would want to continue picking up more wickets, Dhoni would surely want another spinner in the team.
In that case, either Harbhajan Singh would make his way back into the team or Mitch Santner might be called upon considering SRH do not have many left-handers apart from Warner. It is more likely that Harbhajan will come in since he has been terrific whenever he has got the opportunity. He also has 2 Man of the Match awards already.
Shardul Thakur is expected to miss out on this match. Deepak Chahar would love to bowl his cutters and slower ones on this pitch and giving him company on this would be none other than the champion rockstar named Dwayne Bravo.
