Identical videos of Lewis Hamilton and Shakira lead to speculation of a surfing date

Lewis Hamilton and Shakira have been the latest topic of gossip amongst Formula 1 fans. It has been widely speculated by fans that Hamilton has been dating the Latin pop star. The speculations reached a new high as fans figured out a weird similarity between two videos posted by Hamilton and Shakira, respectively.

The rumors about Hamilton and Shakira dating each other started off when the duo was spotted relaxing on a yacht together during the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Shakira was spotted again attending the Spanish Grand Prix, and the duo had dinner together after the race.

Hamilton himself fed the rumors even more during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. The seven-time world champion commented during a fan-forum at Barcelona that he needs a Latina in his life. All of this, added to the identical surfing videos has left fans convinced that the Mercedes driver and the Latina songstress surely have something brewing between them.

Lewis Hamilton and Shakira have made waves among fans

The whole surfing saga started off when Shakira posted a video of herself surfing in Miami. She was seen standing upright on a surfboard and tackling the oncoming waves with amazing skill. She posted the video on Instagram on the 23rd of May with the caption “Si no hay olas se hacen” which translates to “If there are no waves we make them”

Lewis Hamilton followed up with a very similar post just two weeks later. The Mercedes driver was seen shirtless, maneuvering his surfboard over oncoming waves. The background seemed very similar to the one that can be seen in Shakira’s video.

Spanish news outlet Marca provided some insight into the whole matter as they quoted that Hamilton and Shakira have been spotted together quite a few times in the last month. Marca also commented that close friends of the duo have claimed that the singer has been spending quite some time with Hamilton recently and the couple are getting to know each other better.

Hamilton fans took it up with Shakira’s ex

Even though neither Hamilton nor Shakira has made any official announcements regarding their relationship, fans took things to a different level as they dug out a 10+ year old tweet by Shakira’s ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique. The tweet was posted by the Spanish footballer in 2012 and he was celebrating Hamilton’s DNF from the Singapore Grand Prix.

Hamilton fans flipped the tweet which originally said “Hamilton Out! Alonso is flying” and roasted Pique by posting “Pique Out! Hamilton is flying”. Gerard Pique and Shakira broke up last year in June and since then, Shakira has been single. She moved to Miami with her daughter and has been focusing on rebuilding her life once more.
