Gunners Enterprises or “Digger” as Gina lovingly called it was one of her “best friends”. The two competed in the reining discipline.

Gina wrote, “Yesterday I had to say goodbye to one of my best friends, one of the biggest-hearted and one of the greatest horses of my life! My heart breaks to let him go, but sometimes we have to take hard decisions in order to do the right thing for our animal friends.”

She rode the horse while competing in several national and international horse-riding championships where they found tremendous success. Including the European Junior Champion title in 2013 and 2015.

Gina retired “Diggers” from competitions in 2020. But she used to regularly ride her pet in their Mallorca-based ranch.

Schumacher loved horse riding apart from skiing

Michael Schumacher used to be an avid fan of horse riding. It was one of Schumacher’s main hobbies apart from skiing. Unfortunately, the German is yet to make a full recovery following his near-fatal skiing accident in 2013

The F1 legend used to have a couple of horses on his Swiss Ranch and used to spend his free time mounting the stallions. Following his retirement, he purchased another ranch in Texas, US for his wife Corina.

Horses are pretty close to the Schumachers as his wife Corina was a keen horsewoman herself. In 2010 she won the European Championship in Western Style Horse riding. Her daughter Gina-Maria inherited her mother’s horseriding skills and competes in horse-riding championships.
