Riot Games promised to regularly dish out new patch updates to keep the in-game meta alive in Valorant. And today, the Valorant 7.02 patch update rolled out.

Like any other sub-patch, this one also brought new minuscule features that improve your in-game quality of life. Along with that, this patch update capitalizes a bit on the Agent interactions introduced in the 7.01 update last month. With Valorant Premier in full swing, there are much more things to look out for.

Like any other esports title, this game also has its fair share of abusive players. Those who cuss without thought of any repercussions are abundant. And after a long while, Riot addressed such issues with some behavioral updates with this patch. Keep reading if you wish to find out everything that is new in the Valorant 7.02 patch update.

Valorant 7.02 patch update adds more Agent interactions and quality-of-life improvements

For games like Valorant, Agent voice lines and interactive statements with other Agents are a massive part of its immersion. And Riot makes sure to keep a tab of it. In the last patch, the new Agent Deadlock received some interactions and new voice lines with Gekko in order to broader her lore. So, in this patch, one of the oldest Agents received some much-needed love from the developers.

With Jett being one of the first Agents to join the fight, she received many kit changes in the past to make her viable in the current meta. But her voice lines remained somewhat the same. With this update, they updated some of her voice lines. Along with that, some interaction lines were added to her arsenal when talking to Gekko and Neon.

Esports updates

The main Esports Hub is here in Valorant. This Hub will help you keep track of anything and everything happening in Valorant Champions 2023. Be it roster shuffles, match situations, scores, or simply watching a live match, everything has been brought to you on a silver platter. The Esports Hub will be live from tomorrow (August 2) with Valorant Champions 2023 set to commence on August 6.

Player Behavior updates

  • The developers added party voice mutes for people who have received team voice mutes.
  • Riot Games will begin a global rollout of our Real Time Text Evaluation and intervention system. Up until recently the system, which began muting people in voice and text chat who sent disruptive text messages in-game, was tested in NA regions only. The test run has given them enough confidence to extend the coverage to global languages starting with a mid-patch update.
    • As Riot Games mentioned before, with the implementation of more immediate text evaluation, they hope to detect and reduce disruptive situations while you’re still in the game. This feature promises safety while engaging with players in a match.

Bug fixes

General bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Spray Wheel was not appearing in Team Deathmatch and Escalation during Warmups.
  • Fixed a bug where the Spike Defuse animation would stop and start while standing on the edge of a Site.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to toggle Walk if your Input settings were set to “Hold”.
  • Fixed an issue where the Duplicate Profile button would not gray out after reaching the maximum number of Crosshair Profiles.

Agent bug fixes

  • Devs fixed a bug where Omen’s From The Shadows (X) and Shrouded Step (C) abilities were not properly canceled if he was hit by KAY/O’s ZERO/point (E) or Deadlock’s Annihilation (X) during the windup before teleporting. Additionally, they added visuals for when this windup is canceled.
  • Fixed the Knife Handle collision on KAY/O’s ZERO/point (E) staying in the world after the Suppression explosion.
  • Fixed Deadlock’s Sonic Sensor (Q) not triggering when Wingman (Q) started defusing the Spike in its detection area under some circumstances.
  • Fixed Chamber’s Rendezvous (E) not having the correct visuals at his departing location.
  • Fixed the issue where players trapped by Deadlock’s Annihilation (X) were not properly killed when hit by the Spike explosion.
  • Fixed issues where Raze’s Showstopper (X) projectile would not explode when hitting players trapped by Deadlock’s Annihilation (X).
  • Fixed issues where damage-over-time area abilities (like Phoenix’s Hot Hands [E]) were not damaging Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh (E).
  • Fixed issue where Brimstone’s Orbital Strike (X) did not damage the cocoon of Deadlock’s Annihilation (X).
  • Fixed an issue where Skye would get an additional charge of Guiding Light (E) upon swapping sides.

Map bug fixes

The developers fixed a bug where going through the B side teleporter on Bind as a controlled ability, such as Sova’s Owl Drone (C), will cut off the teleport audio sound.

Premier bug fixes

Fixed an issue where the Premier Weekly Match Reset timer was not displaying Days left until reset.

Apart from all these issues being fixed, there was also a known issue with cosmetics. The muzzle flash for Araxys skin line shows black and white color chromas upon firing the weapons from the third person perspective. While it is simply a minuscule issue, Riot is still keeping track of it. And they promise to deliver a fix as soon as possible.

This is all that came with the Valorant 7.02 patch update. While you wait for the grand opening of the Valorant Champions 2023, feel free to check out any of the other Valorant content on our website. You can do that by clicking here.
